PetReckoner is made by Sinclair McLay, based in Kirriemuir, Scotland. It exists because most dog advice online is breed marketing dressed as guidance.
The site’s opinion is simple: most rehoming happens because of a mismatch the owner did not see coming. Energy, cost, grooming, children, allergies, housing and law matter more than a pretty breed card.
The quiz helps you think through fit. It is not a substitute for meeting the individual dog, visiting a breeder, speaking to a rescue, or getting veterinary or behaviour advice.
PetReckoner is deliberately a little dry because dog ownership is a 10–15 year welfare and money decision, not an aesthetic purchase.
